Living Room Glow Up

We had finally graduated to the phase in our family life when our kids and dogs were finally in a place where they would not ruin new furniture. Our old couch was ready to retire, and we were excited for something new and updated. In addition to the sofa, we were also going to say goodbye to our Ikea staples and upgrade our media console, coffee, and side tables. We wanted to keep the cost in a normal range. Serina and Lilly’s pieces are amazing, and I love the modern coastal look of them, but the price point was less than desirable. So we went on the search for great quality at a normal price range. We looked at interior design stores including every mainstream furniture store.

The first project was the sofa. We needed a modular one with a deep depth and washable covers.  Logan found a fantastic sofa store 7th Avenue at Lido in Newport Beach. They checked all the boxes, with price while the quality and style were shockingly great compared to other furniture stores. We went, met with the store rep and picked a modular couch which fit with our desired size and color. They delivered and set it up a few weeks later, which is fantastic! Their customer service since it is a smaller company was great! They sent me a new cushion insert when I mistakenly took the memory foam out of the down cover to wash it after Toby had an accident on it. So heads up….DO NOT take out the memory foam…it will not go back in!

The color we went with was oatmeal so we needed to pick pieces that had more of a neutral undertone. We had more greys and blues before. I have recently been loving the oak wood finish. It has a more clean look to it. We went with the Modern Farmhouse collection media console and coffee table from Pottery Barn. To accent the solid oak wood we paired them with a marble top and black iron base accent tables. And to finish the room Logan got his leather man chair he had been eyeing.

We love the updated living room! It has a modern look and a comfy family feel. The links are below!
